Stay positive – Those tips might help

Stay positive – Those tips might help

We are living in some very strange times right now and it is normal to be scared and sad. As individuals we are different from one another and how we react to this new world we are living in can vary from person to person. We should not judge each other on how we react or how we feel – we are all in this together!

I am taking this situation seriously and being extremely cautious. Therefore, as always, I think that staying positive and optimistic is very important. More important than ever! It can be hard though to be positive with all that is going on, but there are some ways and tools that we can use to help us.

Here are some tips I want to share with you that I believe are working

  • Try to get enough sleep each night. When we are tired and we lack sleep we tend to get over emotional and make problems bigger than they are. Also our immune system gets weaker if we don´t get enough sleep and we really need our immune system to be strong right now. Studies show that if we don’t get enough sleep we are more likely to get sick after being exposed to a virus and it can also affect how fast we recover if we get sick.

To be lucky or not in life

To be lucky or not in life

Do you consider yourself a lucky person, or do you feel that luck is not on your side?

And do you know someone who you consider to be extremely lucky? Someone that has everything going his/hers way in life? Someone who tells these incredible stories of the amazing things happening in their life? Something that you believe would never happen in your life! And would you say this bothers you?

Have you ever considered that there are no unintended consequences of luck. Luck is not something that just happens all the time! Well of course if you win the Lottery or something like that, you could call that luck. But good luck, according to some scientists is something that you can attract toward yourself. Interesting, right?

Spring 2020 styles

Spring 2020 styles

It is always refreshing when the spring collections arrive in stores. The brighter colours and thinner materials tell us that spring is just around the corner. And spring is such a wonderful season when everything is waking up and starting to blossom.

This spring we are seeing a lot of rose prints and bright and beautiful colours, which describes spring perfectly. The Pantone Color Institute has announced that its 2020 colour of the year is a Classic Blue, a deep blue shade that is comforting and relatable. I actually love all shades of blue as blue is my favourite colour.

So happy to be here

So happy to be here

I have been fascinated with fashion and style from a very young age. Therefore it is no wonder that one of my idols in life is the legendary Gabrielle Bonheur, better know as Coco Chanel.

The 50plus Girl blog will feature style and fashion along with my passion for travel and food. But I am a huge fan of travelling and seeing new things, towns, cities, countries and cultures. And I still have so many places on my bucket list.

With age I value even more being comfortable in what I am wearing and not accepting that beauty is pain. Chanel explained this so well when she said “luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.” This is so true!

As an author of a book about menopause and the years after forty I will also be blogging about menopause, higher age, health and just about everything else associated with getting older.

I hope you will enjoy following me on my blogging journey here and my travels around the world.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

Hi, I´m Jona The 50plus Girl. I am a writer, blogger and a big life enthusiast with a Master´s degree in Editing and Publishing. My passions in life have always been fashion, languages and writing. I have enjoyed learning new languages, visiting new countries and learning about different cultures.

I am a wife and a mother to three wonderful young men who are my biggest achievement in life. Motherhood is the biggest and most important task I have ever taken on.

TRAVEL, FOOD AND ME

I love to travel and have been so fortunate to visit many different countries and continents . And I´m certainly not done yet! Paris was the first city that I choose to visit when I was allowed to travel alone without my parents. I had been waiting for many years to see and explore this charming city of fashion and style and when I was 18 years old the dream came true. Ever since Paris has been one of my favourites cities and I still visit frequently.

I am a gourmet person and a food lover. Cooking and dining out is something that I absolutely love doing. Starting off with a glass of the french Veuve Clicquot is always a beginning of something good. Well, you might say that I love everything french.

GOAL

My goal with this blog is to show women over fifty that you can still dream and that you are never too old to learn something new or start something new. And you certainly can make your dreams come true after fifty. It is never too late to change your life and find your passion – that is if you haven´t already found it. You can still wear what you want and you don´t have to dress according to age, whatever that means. You can still have long hair, wear a bikini, use barrettes and colour your hair pink if you want to. Just be yourself!
